Greetings to the living,
Welcome to Knightshade Manor. Within these pages you will find summaries of the psychological files within the Knightshade archival vaults housed within the lower levels of the Manor. These files consist of the notes and interpretations of the caretakers after numerous interviews, observational studies and controlled experiments wherein the guest was free to exhibit all behaviors and actions they desired.
As with the previous installments of this journal, the tales pertain to the lives of individual souls who due to inattention of their own mortality find themselves guests within the Manor. In response to the chaotic atmosphere that surrounds the guests and grounds of the Manor, once again various changes have occurred. For a description of the Manor, its purpose, past and present residents and employees please see any of the previous volumes of this journal, due to events that transpire continually at Knightshade Manor, the ectoplasm that surrounds the Manor and grounds, creates several additions to the Manor.
This is a continuation of Knightshade Manor. I have neglected to write for these past months. As I have been out in the field. A result of this is there is a serious backlog on the files that have to be reviewed and analyzed. The following are a quick summary of the files contained within this volume.
The residents on the sixth floor reside in the Manor as a result of having transpired in Dark Highways, a forthcoming series outlining the fieldwork reports from Raven Knightshade, Kevin Knightshade, Louis Knightshade and Dena Knightshade. Multiple deaths and single deaths as result of accidents that occurred on the various roadways, tracks, and lanes of transport involving vehicular hazards, mass-transit wrecks, and isolated incidents that bear further investigation.
As I read through these files, there are many incidents that are linked to one individual. As part of my field research I chose to follow this young woman as there were several souls connected to her and the open road. In room 602 Staci finds herself in a lone hotel called the Palomino in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Her memories involved her vehicle break down on the freeway and the not so friendly female tow truck driver; who introduced herself by showing her handgun to Staci. Now, a considerable amount of time later; Staci stood in the hotel bathroom staring at the flecks of blood on her face and her shirt.
In room 603, Staci once again appears in another hotel room, she had been driving for four days, and had stopped in various places throughout her travels. As she had neared her destination, her vehicle began to overheat. As she reached the outer boundaries of San Diego, her vehicle stalled. She called a tow, and an eastern European driver appeared and hauled her truck up onto the truck. He had an old trick and drove extra miles thus he ran up the rates on the truck haul. Pulling off into an obscure part of town he did that which a proper gentleman would never dare to request of a woman.
In room 604 we will find Gary, an executive a major soda manufacturer who finds himself trying to convince a tribal people on the edge of a major desert to allow the building of a factory on their sacred grounds. The residents who offer their own form of justice to this single representative of an external world of which they had no interest to be enmeshed.
In room 614 resides a young woman, who had all of the worries in the world taken care of, she was free to travel to where she desired, she was on her way home to commence her career. She noticed the lights blinking on the dashboard, and seeing the needle on the thermometer rise towards the hot indicator, she took the next exit off of the freeway. She pulled into a small desert town in New Mexico. Having pulled into a gas station, seeing the only available shade on the eastern edge of the building, she parked her car and waited for her engine to cool. Seeing the inevitable sign indicating that parking was for customers only, she opened her door, and walked into the small convenience store. If for anything to at least show face, letting the owner know she was purchasing something from his store. Little did she know that this was the beginning of a weeklong tortuous entrapment within a small deserted town in the middle of the New Mexico desert along that most famous of haunted highways.
Contained within this volume 9, is a summary of some of the files maintained within the lower levels and basement of the Manor. As stated in all previous volumes, the intent of the staff is to facilitate the speedy recovery of all guests who find themselves within our domain, for, as always there is never a limitation to the influx of premature dead.
Be aware not all tales held within this volume are outlined here… you must read the actual volumes for all details.
